WoodGrain 2070: Plan at a Larger Scale

A wider woodgrain sheet changes how a composition can be divided, cut and carried through a space. WoodGrain 2070 brings a 2800 × 2070 mm format to that discussion, alongside grain direction and practical fabrication.

Begin with the whole composition

A broad wardrobe elevation or long run of joinery is experienced as a whole. Individual doors, gaps and grain direction still matter, but a wider raw sheet gives the designer and cabinet maker another way to approach the layout. WoodGrain 2070 is the wide-format direction within the WoodGrain family.

The specified format is 2800 mm long × 2070 mm wide. That is a raw-sheet dimension, rather than a promise of one finished panel without joins. Trimming, edging, component sizes and the intended grain direction all belong in the cut plan.

Draw the grain before placing the cuts

Start with the elevation and mark the direction of each component. Then compare the proposed cuts with the décor at a larger scale. A small sample can establish colour and touch, while a full-pattern view reveals how the grain reads across a larger face.

  1. Confirm the finished component sizes and visible gaps.
  2. Mark grain direction and any desired relationship between neighbouring faces.
  3. Allow for trimming, edging and the fabricator’s cutting process.
  4. Review the actual sheet layout before confirming the order.

Wide format can create useful layout options; it does not by itself establish grain continuity or a particular material yield. Those results depend on the chosen décor and the approved cutting arrangement.

Make the format work for the workshop

Check that handling equipment and machinery can accept the sheet width. KnoxOne’s current arrangement allows one pre-cut at no additional charge for WoodGrain 2070, with the offcut included. The cabinet maker specifies that cut and undertakes the remaining fabrication. Confirm the arrangement when quoting the project.

Thickness also changes the supply route. Current supply guidance identifies the 18 mm Premium PB option as normally stocked with no minimum order quantity, while 25 mm is a special-order route with a 22-sheet minimum. Availability, exact colour and timing still need checking for the selected item; a change in thickness needs a fresh supply confirmation.

Carry the finish into the specification

The current Fumed Oak 5017 product record, for example, identifies a double-sided 2800 × 2070 × 18 mm MR particleboard panel. It is one specific configuration, rather than a specification for every décor and thickness in the collection.

Compare the face with its coordinating edge, record the exact product and attach the cut plan. View the WoodGrain 2070 collection, or read how grain and texture work together before choosing the finish.
